Most patients pay a self-pay rate between $85 and $195, which we’ll share with you before your exam. If you’d like us to try billing insurance, we’ll still provide the self-pay amount in case insurance doesn’t cover it.
Medicaid patients must go through insurance. Self-pay pricing is not available for Medicaid plans.
In some states (Nevada, Texas, and Colorado), you don’t need a formal order. We do, however, need the name of your doctor so the results can be sent to them. In other states, an order may be required.
We do not perform calcium scoring for patients who already have coronary stents, have had bypass surgery, or have a history of atrial fibrillation.
Yes, patients with pacemakers can safely receive the Coronary Calcium Scan.
Please avoid caffeine for 6 hours before your appointment. Otherwise, no special preparation is required for a Coronary Calcium Scan.
Your doctor will usually receive the results within a few business days. They’ll review your results with you and discuss next steps or follow-up care, if needed.
