Lung CT has been used for years in diagnosing
diseases of the lungs, including lung cancer.
With recent advances, Lung CT techniques have
radically improved - total lung scans with sub-millimeter
resolution are now possible in seconds. And computer
workstations are now available to process the lung imaging data, and
accurately measure nodules in three dimensions.
At SimonMed, we believe that these advanced
techniques are essential in helping us detect lung diseases,
such as lung cancer, while they are still treatable. For
instance, tiny nodules can be discovered with
state-of-the-art lung imaging. By providing data in three
dimensions, we have a greater ability to detect early
changes that can indicate malignancy in these very tiny
nodules through follow-up studies.
This Lung MRI is just one of many
exciting new techniques available at SimonMed.
Special Preparation
Generally none for our lung MRI. In special cases that require IV
contrast, avoid solid food four hours prior to the exam.
